Made of ginkgo wood and finished with kakishibu (fermented persimmon tannin dye)

Each piece embraces the natural imperfections of the wood—such as  chips and marks—shaping them into part of its character.

Soft, subtle undulations flow through the piece, creating a quiet elegance that draws the eye.

Born in Okinawa, Japan, 1986.
Mr. Unten lives in the central region of Kyushu, Japan, in the nature-rich city of Taketa, Oita Prefecture.
He has his own residence and studio where he creates his works.
He combines the textures, knots, cracks, and imperfections of wood with his own inspirations, presenting a unique beauty of nature.
