Yamato Kobayashi is a ceramic artist based in Kasama, Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan.
He creates his works using local clay and glazes from Kasama, a region long known for its pottery tradition.
His pieces convey the warm, natural character of the clay, while the crisp firing gives them a refined, modern impression.
After shaping on the potter’s wheel, Kobayashi carves each piece to bring out its beautiful form.
