Spouted bowl /Ryutaro Yamada

A spouted bowl, often called a katakuchi in Japanese ceramics, is a versatile, deep bowl featuring a specialized U-shaped notch or spout on the rim for pouring liquids. Typically designed for functional tasks like salad or food with sauce, these bowls combine a wide body for easy stirring/whisking with a focused channel for clean, drip-free pouring.

Ryutaro Yamada | 山田隆太郎

Born in Saitama, Japan, 1984
Mr Yamada’s workshop is located in the mountains of Fujino,
Kanagawa Prefecture. He makes use of wood kiln ring, oil kiln
ring, and gas kiln ring to produce his pottery from raw clay
collected nearby. His pottery is full of roughness from raw clay
with balance in the harmony of wholeness; he continues to
create with a calm and generous passion.
