Each piece is handcrafted using traditional blowglass techniques. To highlight the inherent beauty of glass, no decorative elements are added—every work is made exclusively from clear glass, embodying a philosophy of refined simplicity.
It is this mastery of technique and deep experience that allows even the smallest details to hold a quiet elegance.
Though delicately thin, these pieces are not overly fragile. The weight in the hand and the feel at the lip are meticulously considered, resulting in works that integrate effortlessly into daily life while bringing a touch of sophistication to everyday moments.
The "standard "series represents what Taiga Oku considers to be his own personal standard.
It does not aim to produce identical pieces, but rather reflects an ongoing process of repetition and renewal—continuously revisiting and refining his sense of what “standard” means to him through the act of making.

Taiga Oku /奥泰我
Born in Kagawa,Japan 1986. He set up his studio in an old factory in the 1,200-year-old stone town near the Seto Inland Sea and creates glass works. Incorporating a handblown feel into transparent lines brings out that beauty in the work.
